Pamphlets threaten to whip up
tension once again in Gujarat

Pamphlets with inflammatory messages are threatening to renew tensions in Gujarat.

Some pamphlets, purportedly printed by the Vishva Hindu Parishad, call for economic and social boycott of Muslims.

Similar pamphlets calling for a boycot of Hindus are also in circulation.

"No one takes them seriously, but nonetheless such pamphlets are in circulation all over the state," a senior Intelligence Bureau officer of Gujarat police said.

One such pamphlet sought opinion on whether it was the right time for the Bharatiya Janata Party to call for a snap poll in the state. The pamphlet had caused considerable embarrassment to the Narendra Modi government.

Printer's name is not mentioned anywhere on any of these pamphlets.
