In another incident, security forces detected an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by militants near the Gangoo-Lajoora grid station in south Kashmir. It was defused before it could cause any damage, the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, militants shot at and critically wounded a released militant Mohammad Hayat Hafiz in downtown Srinagar on Sunday morning, the spokesman said.
Quoting a delayed report, the spokesman said a militant, Nazir Ahmed Denga, a resident of Raiyar-Budgam, abducted one Nazir Ahmed Bhati from his house at Zogoo-Khairlan in Budgam district of central Kashmir on the intervening night of April four and five for opposing the marriage of his sister with the militant.
