Violence victims demand inquiry by Supreme Court judge

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Thursday faced angry demonstrators at the Shah Alam refugee camp in Ahmedabad demanding removal of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for his 'failure' to control the violence in the state and a CBI probe into police 'inaction'.

Shouting slogans against Modi, who accompanied Vajpayee to the camp, the demonstrators also demanded that the inquiry into the riots be conducted by a Supreme Court judge.

The demonstrators carried placards saying 'We are citizens of India' and 'Remove Modi'.
