CBI catches top Orissa ASI
official accepting bribe

Giridhar Gopal in Bhubaneswar

A Central Bureau of Investigation team caught a senior official of the Archaeological Survey of India while accepting bribe from a contractor in Bhubaneswar, CBI sources said on Thursday.

Deputy Superintending Engineer P G Krishnaprasad was caught while accepting Rs 15,000 from a contractor on Wednesday to sign an order for the release of a pending bill.

A complaint has been filed against Krishnaprasad with the CBI's Bhubaneswar office.
