Vajpayee reviews relief measures in Gujarat

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Tuesday reviewed the relief measures being undertaken for the victims of communal violence in Gujarat.

He is likely to announce a rehabilitation package for those affected by the violence during his visit to the state on Thursday.

Health and Family Welfare Minister C P Thakur said various measures for those affected by the riots were discussed during the meeting.

He said steps would be taken to ensure that those living in refugee camps returned to their homes soon.

Home Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani, Law Minister Arun Jaitley and Textiles Minister also attended the meeting.
