Police files chargesheet against
alleged Gulshan Kumar killer

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Usha Iyer then committed the case of Abdul Rauf to the sessions court for trial. He will be produced before the trial court on April 9.

The supplementary chargesheet in the Gulshan Kumar murder case, running into 1105 pages, was filed by Senior Police Inspector Arun Bagadi and sub-inspector M G Kale. The first chargesheet was filed in February before a trial court.

A copy of the supplementary chargesheet was handed over to the accused.

Abdul Rauf, a sharp shooter of Chhota Shakeel gang, has been charged under various sections of the IPC for murder, conspiracy, robbery, dacoity and the Arms Act.

According to police, Abdul Rauf, Washim Babu and Anil Sharma had allegedly killed Gulshan Kumar on August 12, 1997 outside a temple in Bombay. Anil Sharma was later killed in a police encounter while Washim and Abdul Rauf are in custody.

Police recovered two revolvers from Washim and Abdul Rauf's mother, which were used in the crime.

Abdul Rauf was working with Chhota Shakeel prior to the murder of Gulshan Kumar and was in Dubai for almost a year.
