The Union government Saturday said it has not ordered any probe into the financial affairs of tehelka.com, which secretly recorded the bribing scandal involving politicians and bureaucrats, and its holding company Buffalo Network Private Ltd.
"The Department of Company Affairs hereby clarifies that there is no investigation of any kind directed by the department against tehelka.com and its holding company," an official release said in New Delhi.
A news item on tehelka.com quoting sources said, "Union Law Minister Arun Jaitley 'quietly' ordered the probe through Department of Company Affairs. The DCA has already started inspection of the books of accounts of both the website and the holding company."
