Sit-in protests during curfew relaxation period were reported from some places on the outskirts of the Greater Imphal area, they said.
Meanwhile, security and police forces have been deployed at vulnerable places to maintain peace during the ten-hour relaxation of indefinite curfew from 0500 hours on Tuesday in the two districts, sources said, adding no untoward incident had been reported from any part of the state so far.
Reports said normal life was disrupted throughout Jiribam sub-division bordering Assam on Monday because of a 24-hour bandh called by the Muslim Development Committee in protest against the ceasefire.
Road blockades were also reported at different places on National Highway number 53 from Imphal to Silchar in Assam via Jiribam, official sources said, adding security along the highway had been intensified.
Indefinite curfew was imposed in three valley districts since Monday last following large-scale violence, which claimed 14 lives and witnessed torching of the assembly building and the chief minister's secretariat among other public property.
