Security for 'flyover scam' judge beefed up

The police on Saturday beefed up the security for the Principal Sessions Judge Ashok Kumar, who has allegedly been receiving threatening calls in wake of the severe strictures passed by him while hearing the bail petitions of the accused in the 'flyover scam'.

A city police release said an assistant commissioner of police and two more constables have been provided to the judge since Friday night, in addition to the existing strength of three constables and an officer.

The judges's son A Edwin Prabhakar had petitioned the Tamil Nadu governor seeking security from the Centre as his father was allegedly receiving threatening phone calls and some 'mysterious' persons were following him.
