Decision on Hurriyat delegation's
Pak visit after PM's return

Government will take a decision on giving permission to a five-member Hurriyat delegation to visit Pakistan only after the return of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to New Delhi.

"After the prime minister's return to Delhi, it would be decided whether permission should be given to one or some or all of them," Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Brajesh Mishra said in Bali, Indonesia, on Friday.

Rejecting reports that Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah was not being taken into confidence by the Centre, Mishra said, "At every moment, he has been taken into confidence and we have not seen any such reports. If you have any, please show it to us."

To a question he said the issue of giving passports to the Hurriyat leaders did not depend on Pakistan's stand.

The Hurriyat Conference on Thursday announced a five-member delegation to visit Pakistan for talks with militant groups. It includes Abdul Ghani Lone, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Sheikh Abdul Aziz, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq and Maulana Abas Ansari.

Among them, only Farooq and Lone have valid travel documents while Ansari's passport had been impounded after his return from Qatari capital Doha.
