Four BSF men injured in Srinagar grenade attack

Ten people, including four Border Security Force personnel, were injured when militants attempted to blow up a police station and a security picket with grenades in Srinagar Friday, an official spokesman said.

Two grenades were lobbed by militants within a span of ten minutes at a BSF picket in Hanuman Mandir in the heart of the city and Khanyar police station, the sources said, adding the first one exploded but the second one was defused by the experts.

Four BSF jawans and six pedestrians were injured in the explosion at Hanuman Mandir, he said.

The militants escaped, taking advantage of the panic after the blast, he said.
