STF camp attacked in J&K: PTI

A militant was killed when the Special Task Force opened fire, repulsing an attack on their camp in Baramullah district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday night, a state government spokesman said.

He told PTI over the telephone that a group of militants opened fire on the STF camp at Safapura, 25 km from Srinagar, at 2200 hours.

The STF men retaliated, killing a militant and forcing the others to flee, the spokesman added.

A policeman, who was injured in the shootout, was taken to a nearby army hospital, the spokesman said.

Four militants were believed to be involved in the attack, he added.
