Three more arrested in Phoolan case

Three more persons were arrested on Friday in connection with the Phoolan Devi murder case taking the number of people apprehended so far to seven, police sources said.

Keshav Chauhan, a Samajwadi Party worker from Mirzapur, who had been brought to Delhi for questioning on Thursday night, was formally arrested on Friday, they said.

Chauhan had allegedly hidden the two revolvers used in the crime in the slain MP's garage.

Police also arrested Praveen Mittal, an advocate and Amit Rathi, who allegedly provided arms to prime accused Sher Singh Rana.

The three will be produced in Patiala House court.

While Rana had surrendered before the police in Dehradun, Ravinder alias Rajinder, Shekhar and Rajvir were arrested from Saharanpur and later brought to Delhi.

The dacoit-turned-lawmaker was gunned down outside her residence in the capital's high security zone on July 25.
