Dara Singh to move SC for bail

Dara Singh, the main accused in the gruesome murder of Australian missionary Graham Staines and his two sons at Manoharpur in Orissa in 1999, will file a bail petition in the Supreme Court later this month.

Dara Singh, along with the other accused in the Staines murder case, was produced before the district and sessions judge, Khurda on Wednesday, but the trial was adjourned till Thursday.

Dara Singh's lawyer Banbehari Mohanty said his client would move a bail application in the Supreme Court in the third week of August.

Earlier, speaking to rediff.com before returning to Bhubaneswar jail, Dara Singh alleged that the Central Bureau of Investigation was producing false witnesses against him.

Dara Singh has spent over an year in police custody. He was chargesheeted by the CBI as the main accused in the Staines murder case last year.
