Two unknown outfits own
grenade attack on Hurriyat HQs

Two little-known militant outfits, Mujahideen-e-Haq (MeH) and Al-Qasas, claimed to have carried out Monday afternoon's grenade attack on the Hurriyat Conference headquarters in Srinagar injuring four persons.

A caller introducing himself as a spokesman of MeH told a local news agency that the attack was carried out by its activists as the outfit was against holding any talks with the Centre.

Mujahideen-e-Haq has the dubious distinction of having attacked several secessionist leaders, including a senior Hurriyat leader last year.

Minutes after that, another person identifying himself as spokesman of 'Al-Qasas', an unknown of outfit, told the news agency that the attack was carried out by its activists to protest the failure of the Hurriyat to take the militant leadership into confidence over the issue of peace talks with the Centre.
