Militants wipe out family
of five in Udhampur

Militants wiped out a family of five in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir in a pre-dawn attack on Saturday, an official spokesman said.

He said a group of unidentified militants forced their way into the house of Ghulam Hassan at Sonawanmali in Udhampur district in the wee hours and fired indiscriminately.

Hassan, his wife Shameema and their three children aged between two and five years died on the spot.

Security forces rushed to the spot on hearing the gun-shots and a massive hunt was launched to nab the militants, he said.
