Rocket fired at CRPF building in Srinagar

Mukhtar Ahmad in Srinagar

Militants late on Wednesday evening fired a rocket on Pamposh building, which is currently being used by Central Reserve Police Force personnel.

Police sources said the rocket hit the fourth storey of the heavily guarded building. No one was wounded in the incident.

Police sources told rediff.com that militants fired the rocket from Rajbagh area. The explosion shook buildings in the Civil Lines area.

Immediately after the explosion, shopkeepers pulled down their shutters and the city centre was devoid of traffic.

The Lashkar-e-Tayiba has claimed responsibility for the attack.
