Nine hurt in Srinagar blast

Mukhtar Ahmad in Srinagar

Nine persons including five Border Security Force jawans were wounded in a powerful mine blast at Qamarwari in Srinagar city on Monday afternoon.

Police said a mine planted in a parked cycle exploded injuring nine persons, including five BSF jawans, who have been rushed to hospital. Two BSF vehicles were also damaged in the blast.

The area was later cordoned off and searched by BSF troops.
