Two women killed in grenade attack in J&K

Two women were killed and three people were critically wounded when militants lobbed a hand grenade into a house in Dooru in south Anantnag district late Wednesday night.

Police said the grenade exploded in a room where the inmates were sitting.

A woman, identified only as Taja, and her daughter, Rafiqa, were killed instantly. Three others were seriously injured and have been rushed to hospital, police said.

No militant group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.

Meanwhile, militants also opened fire on a Central Reserve Police Force bunker on the Baramullah bridge on Wednesday night. CRPF personnel returned fire. There were no casualties
