E-Mail this report to a friend

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has set up a special task force to help the Orissa government in the relief and rescue operations in the cyclone-affected areas.

The task force, headed by the state director general of police, includes the state's relief commissioner and medical teams, official sources have said.

Naidu has placed a special aircraft at the disposal of the task force to rush food supplies and medicines for the affected people.

The task force has already started its operations.

The state government has also decided to observe the state formation day today in a solemn manner in view of the devastating cyclone that had wrecked havoc in Orissa.
