Dusk-to-dawn curfew on Punjab border

A dusk-to-dawn curfew was clamped from today till July 17 along the India-Pakistan border in the Amritsar sector, in the wake of the tension prevailing between the two countries in the Kargil sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

In his order, Amritsar District Magistrate Harinderjit Singh also banned all movements of civilians within 500 metres of the border from 2100 hours to 0500 hours till that date.
