Indian Army pounds Pakistani positions

E-Mail this report to a friend

The Indian Army today pounded Pakistani positions in Chamb area of the Akhnoor sector near Jammu with heavy mortar fire in retaliation to intermittent firing from across the border in the past few days.

Casualties on the Pakistani side were not known immediately, official sources said.

A 16-year-old boy was killed in Pakistani firing on Sunday.

Unprovoked heavy arms and mortar firing in Pallanwala and Chamb areas from across the border had forced a large number of people to flee the border villages, the sources added.
