Retaliating to the Pakistani shelling along the Line of Control in Rajouri and Poonch districts, Indian troops today killed at least eight Pakistani soldiers and seven terrorists in Bhimber Gali and Krishan Gati sectors.

According to a defence spokesman, the Pakistani troops continued to resort to unprovoked mortar and small arms fire along the LoC at a number of places.

"Our troops retaliated effectively and as per reliable inputs, eight Pakistani soldiers and seven militants were killed and five others wounded in Bhimber Gali and Krishan Ghati sectors today," he said.

Meanwhile, in Jourian and Sunderbani sub-sectors, Indian troops destroyed two Pakistani bunkers and two towers and inflicted considerable damage on the living quarters of the Pakistan Army, which could be seen in flames.
