Bibhuti Mishra in Bhubaneshwar

Another person, Tuna Mohanty, has been arrested in the Anjana Mishra gang rape case while the first accused, Padia Sahoo, changed his statement.

Tuna Mohanty, allegedly one of the three men who had raped Anjana on January 9, when she was on her way to Cuttack from Bhubaneshwar, was arrested on January 25 and produced before a magistrate. His appeal for bail was rejected and he was sent to jail, awaiting identification.

Padia Sahoo, the other alleged rapist identified by Anjana on January 15, changed his statement before the magistrate. This time he did not admit to the rape as he allegedly had to the police.

Meanwhile, Anjana's petition at the high court for shifting the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation was heard yesterday and the next date of hearing fixed for February 2.
