Thackeray asks for weapons to fight Pakistan

E-Mail this report to a friend

Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray has asked Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to provide Shiv Sainiks with 'modern and sophisticated' weapons so that they can fight the enemies on the border.

Reacting sharply to Vajpayee's statement in Delhi -- ''If you really want to fight, you should go and fight on the border instead of digging up pitches at night'' -- Thackeray said his men were prepared to fight Pakistan. Provided they were equipped with sophisticated weapons.

He lamented that patriotic people were treated like enemies.
