6 killed in Sabarimala stampede still unidentified

Six of the 16 bodies of the Sabarimala stampede victims stored at the Kottayam Medical College hospital are yet to be identified.

Of the eight injured, the condition of two is critical. A 40-year-old man is in coma. The other seriously injured was identified as Ganesh, 19, hailing from Banasankari, Ambedkar Nagar, 2nd street, Bangalore.

Measures are being taken to send the bodies of the following persons to their native places: Venkimadhm Gangayya (26), s/o Sankarayya, Thakalappally, Dandan Malliyal, Karimnagar District (Andhra Pradesh), Suresh Babu (30) s/o Venkanna Manthamary, Ankadillur, Adilabad (AP), Raju (18) c/o Narasimayya, Bar Lane, Saedanamam (Karnataka), Thoppayya (35), Thunkur, Karimba Suma Swamy Mada (Karnataka), Modi Shetty (41) c/o Aiyinagllu Vilesh, Thuloor Mandal, Mangalagiri, Guntur Districtt (AP), Rajesh (13) Madras, Ramakrishnan, Thuraibhava Cherive, Nadanapally, Chittoor (AP) and Pothula Alayya, (25) Chirakullu, Athilapar (AP).

Kerala Health Minister A C Shanmughadas Saturday visited the injured.
