Sikkim, Orissa shiver under low temperatures

Cold wave conditions prevailed in Bihar.

Night temperatures were appreciably below normal in Sikkim, Orissa, south Madhya Pradesh, east Vidarbha and in parts of the plains of west Uttar Pradesh, east Rajasthan, Kutch and north Telangana, and were below normal in West Bengal, Marathwada, west Vidarbha and in parts of Haryana, Punjab and north central Maharashtra.

They were appreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, and were above normal in south Gujarat and north Tamil Nadu, and in some parts of northwest Rajasthan and south Andhra Pradesh.

They were normal over the rest of the country outside Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura from where the data were sparse.

Rain or thundershowers occurred at isolated places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Tamil Nadu.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country.
