Aircraft on standby to bring back passengers

An Indian Airlines A320 aircraft has been positioned at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi with crew on standby, to take off if there is word that the hostages of the hijacked IA flight 814 are being released in Kandahar, Afghanistan.

Airline sources said the relief plane was put on standby this morning and was ready to leave whenever required.

They said all arrangements had been made to take care of the hostages, who have been on the hijacked plane since Friday afternoon. UNI
