No meeting between Sharief-Vajpayee at UN

E-Mail this report to a friend

Pakistan foreign secretary Shamshad Ahmed has said ''there was no possibility'' of any meeting between Prime Ministers Nawaz Sharief and Atal Bihari Vajpayee on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session next month.

He denied the possibility of any post-Kargil Indo-Pak meeting during the General Assembly session in New York.

Speaking about the schedule of Sharief's visit, Ahmed said the prime minister is expected to have a one-day halt at Tokyo before reaching New York. ''He is expected to meet the Japanese prime minister on September 18,'' Ahmed added.
