Severe heat wave in Rajasthan

Rain or snow is likely to fall at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir. Rain or thundershowers are likely to fall at a few places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal and Sikkim, and at isolated places in Bihar, Tamil Nadu, south interior Karnataka and Kerala. Mainly dry weather will prevail over the rest of the country.

Severe heat wave conditions prevailed in parts of Rajasthan. Heat wave conditions also prevailed in the plains of west Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, north Gujarat, north-central Maharashtra and the remaining parts of Rajasthan and some parts of Haryana, Vidarbha, Marathwada and Telangana.

Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in the Bihar plateau, Tamil Nadu. north interior Karnataka and parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh, and above normal in some parts of east Uttar Pradesh, hills of west Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and south Gujarat.

They were below normal in the remaining parts of east Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the country barring Arunachal Pradesh, from where data were sparse.

Rain or snow fell at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh. Rain or thundershowers fell at many places in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, a few places in Gangetic West Bengal and isolated places in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and coastal Karnataka.

Very light rain or snow also fell at isolated places in Kerala.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over the rest of the country.
