Union Commerce Minister and Lok Shaktji chief Ramakrishna Hegde today said a realignment of political forces involving various partners of the Bharatiya Janata Party -led government at the Centre and other parties, including a faction of the Janata Dal, was on to strengthen the hands of Prime Minister A B Vajpayee.

Speaking to newsmen after participating in a two-day 'mutual Dialogue' between Lok Shakthi leaders and workers at Vidyanagar in Karnataka, he said the combined strength of the members of Parliament of the realigned forces would be more than the required simple majority.

Discussions had already started with various leaders, including Samata Party president George Fernandes and Maneka Gandhi and some leaders of the Janata Dal. Besides, talks were also being held with other partners-- the Biju Janata Dal and the Haryana Vikas Dal, with a view to strengthen the government, he said.
