UP Congress chief promises to rebuild Babri Mosque

E-Mail this report to a friend

Uttar Pradesh Congress unit chief Salman Khursheed has said that a Congress government would pave the way for the reconstruction of the Babri Mosque through a legislation if the Supreme Court ruled in favour of Muslims.

He was addressing a meeting at the Ghanta Ghar park at Bahraich.

Lashing out at the Bharatiya Janata Party, he said the government had failed on all fronts. Corruption, deterioration in the law and order situation, poor quality of education and exploitation of farmers were the order of the day, he said.

Khursheed also came down heavily on Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, saying whenever he has been in power he had only broken the unity of the secular forces. Yadav has been fooling the Muslims to get their votes, he added.
