11 school children killed, 50 injured in Orissa mishap

At least 11 school children were killed and 50 seriously injured when the truck in which they were travelling overturned near Kuchiakoli under Kharia police station in Orissa today.

Police said the mishap occurred when the students of four schools were going to visit a science exhibition at Khaira Government High School in Balasore.

All the injured children were admitted to Balasore Sadar and Khaira hospitals.

The victims belonged to the Rampur High School and Godapokhar, Bansdiha and Bagaipur middle schools.

District authorities rushed to the spot. Details are awaited.
