E-Mail this report to a friend

Two soldiers were injured when militants fired rockets from an unidentified location at an army camp in the heart of Srinagar city on Wednesday afternoon.

Official sources said at least six rockets were fired at the camp in Toto ground, near Batmaloo general bus stand. ''They exploded with big sounds," they said.

This is the first of such incidents in Srinagar in the last five years.

The police, for their part, said the blasts could have been caused by grenades fired from grenade guns from the Chatabal area.

Meanwhile, militants killed a former militant, Abdul Majid, at Kokernag. And forces captured three militants from different places in the valley.
