Shooting was tough. It was a one-hour drive downhill every day in Panchgani. But we soon got used to it. The weather was difficult too. Lucknow, where we shot a few scenes, is noisy. Getting the right sound was a problem, and even make-up took a lot of time. But I think I wanted to rough it out. I wanted to do a film set in India about Indians so I could enjoy going back to places like New York and playing a nice, clean hero.
The dancing in Omkara was different. I had seen my spot boy dancing like that and copied it from him. He is a terrible dancer.
I can't imagine myself playing any other character. I also feel that Ajay Devgan was born to play Omkara. He has given a controlled, powerful performance.
I love doing movies like Hum Tum, but I also like trying different kinds of roles. Still, not everyone can make a Yash Raj movie. It is popular cinema that the masses like to watch.
