Aayutham

Aayutham is my first 2005 release. By April, I will have five releases, two more in Tamil and two in Telugu.

In the film, I play a Brahmin girl. She is a soft village girl, who comes to Chennai to study medicine.

My first film Virumbigiren was with Prashanth, and Aayutham is my 24th film, my second with him! Prashanth has not changed a bit. He is still the same – like a kid, and cracks cute jokes. I was naïve and raw when I did Virumbigiren. Now, I have learnt a lot about how things work.

We talked about our first film together while shooting for Aayutham. I had told him that I would not wear glamorous dresses. He did not believe me then. He said, "All heroines talk like this when they start out but change soon. By the time they do their third or fourth film, they will be in short skirts," he said.

When we met for Aayutham, I told him that I had not changed even after 23 films! He did not say anything.

I don't like to wear very short skirts or low-necked shirts. I belong to a very orthodox family, and nobody from my family has any connection with films. How can I dress like that when in real life I wear jeans, kurtas, cotton salwar kameez and saris?
