This is Hema Malini's first film after Himalayaputra (1997) and a cameo in Hey! Ram (2000). The actress has worked with the Chopras only once before in her career in The Burning Train (1980), co-starring Dharmendra, Vinod Khanna, Jeetendra, Parveen Babi and Neetu Singh.

She shared more screen time with Bachchan in films like Kasauti (1974), Sholay (1975), Trishul (1978), Do Aur Do Paanch (1980), Naseeb (1981), Satte Pe Satta (1981), Desh Premi (1982), and Andha Kanoon (1983).

Hema Malini also directed Dil Aashna Hai (1992), which included Jeetendra, Dimple Kapadia, Mithun Chakraborty, Amrita Singh, Shah Rukh Khan, Sonu Walia and the late Divya Bharti. The film was a disaster at the box office.
