Amitabh Bachchan loves versatility. That would explain why his look in Baghban, as the responsible, loving, ageing father is so different from his upcoming film, Kaizad Gustad's Boom, where he sports an all-white look and plays the brutally cold mafia don, Bade Mia.

Baghban, conceived 40 years ago, was to star Dilip Kumar and Raakhee. In fact, B R Chopra narrated the story to Dilip Kumar in the presence of Bachchan, during the shooting of Zameer, which was Ravi Chopra's directorial debut.

Zameer was the only film that Bachchan and Chopra Jr worked together in before Baghban. The Big B sings three songs in the film. One of them, Holi khele Raghuveera, has traces of his Rang barse number from Silsila.
