Khalnayak (1993)

The Anil Kapoor-Jackie Shroff jodi took a break and Sanjay Dutt stepped in for Khalnayak. Jackie and Sanjay went on to work together in quite a few films like Kartoos and Jung, but Khalnayak was the only hit they had.

Khalnayak was one of Ghai's most controversial films, thanks to the chart-topping track Choli ke peeche.

It faced more problems after its release. Sanjay was arrested in connection with the Mumbai serial bomb blasts in 1993. Shiv Sena leader Bal Thackeray even 'banned' Khalnayak because it starred Dutt. But the film overcame all hurdles and become a huge hit.
