Karan made his debut in Paagalpan, which didn't do well. But his second release, Yeh Dil Aashiqana, was an unexpected success at the box office.

As an aside, Karan was one of the kids along with Aftab Shivdasani and choreographer Ahmed Khan who played an orphan in Shekhar Kapur's Mr India.
