Daughter Shweta and son-in-law Nikhil Nanda flew down from Delhi for the occasion. Nikhil did not attend cousin Karisma Kapoor's wedding on September 29, though his mother Ritu Nanda did.

Abhishek and Karisma were engaged to be married on Bachchan's birthday last year, but the engagement broke off in January. On September 29, Karisma wed Delhi businessman Sunjay Kapur, whose family is a close friend to both the Kapoors and the Bachchans.

The Bachchans did not attend the wedding.
