Son of former Chief Minister of Maharashtra Vilasrao Deshmukh, Ritesh made his film debut in Tujhe Meri Kasam.

The film had a slow start but soon picked up and became a surprise hit by the end of its run.

Politics was never an option for this 25-year-old actor. Though Ritesh had never pictured himself as an actor in his younger years, he always preferred a creative career in architecture or advertising.
