Sexuality was pretty much anathema in Hindi films earlier. Filmmakers always tried to keep sex under wraps. The most common depiction was to show flowers or two birds drawing close.

And a woman dancing in the rain was the boldest form of seduction.

But Bipasha Basu and Pooja Bhatt's Jism changed all that. Sex was dragged out of the closet and how! Bips and her costar John Abraham kissed freely onscreen and the film had a huge overdose of sex.

Jism was a hit. From then started a string of films which were bold in theme and made no bones about it. rediff.com presents 2003's bold films.
