After dabbling in journalism and television, Sriram Raghavan makes his debut as a director with Ek Hasina Thi.

Raghavan’s next feature film too will be under the Varma Corporation banner. Though the details are still under finalisation, Raghavan says he wants to experiment with all genres of filmmaking.

Prior to Ek Hasina Thi, Mahesh Bhatt and Rahul Rawail attempted the woman trapped in prison theme in Gumraah (with Sridevi) and Anjaam (with Madhuri Dixit) respectively.

Both films faced flak for gory depiction of violence and torture.
