Rough weather for Sunil Shetty's Officer

Komal Nahta

The release of the Sunil Shetty and Raveena Tandon starrer, Officer was stalled on Friday, March 2, in some cinemas of the Bombay suburbs and circuit.

The cause? Bombino Video obtained a stay order on further delivery of prints even before all the prints could be delivered to the distributor.

The film's Bombay distributor Pradeep (Bhaiya) tried to get the stay vacated but did not succeed. He could get only 28 of the 45 prints he was to take delivery of.

Fearing the worst, Pradeep released the film at Thane on Thursday.

The producer, Farooq Nadiadwala, is said to owe Bombino 20 prints, while Pradeep had to give 12 to the former.

The shortfall of eight proved the cog in the wheel. Reportedly, a settlement will be arrived at on Saturday, March 3.

Meanwhile, some cinemas, unable to obtain prints, remained closed on Friday.
