Sena terms Muslim protestors of Gadar anti-nationalThe Shiv Sena on Monday joined issues with Muslim organisations protesting against "objectionable scenes" in the controversial film, Gadar - Ek Prem Katha, terming them as "anti-nationals", and stating that the film only reflected the events of 1947. In a statement issued in New Delhi, Shiv Sena's senior city unit leader Abhimanyu Gulati also questioned the "silence" of thespian Dilip Kumar and actress Shabana Azmi over the attacks at cinema halls screening the Sunny Deol-Amisha Patel starrer in Bhopal, Lucknow and Delhi. "Why are Yusuf Khan (Dilip Kumar) and Azmi -- who had called Shiv Sainiks mentally sick when we protested against films like Fire -- remaining mute spectators today?" asked Gulati. He also demanded that the organisations protesting against the film be banned, their leaders arrested and an inquiry into their possible connection with Pakistan's ISI be conducted. Ten activists of Ali Sena were arrested yesterday after they tore posters and banners of the film outside Plaza cinema in the heart of the capital. PTI
