Where are the prints, Hema!

Hema Malini, the chairperson of National Film Development Corporation, will be questioned by the Calcutta police.

Four prints (two of which are Amitabh Bachchan starrers), are missing from NFDC custody, and the inquiry will be in connection with the same.

"We will send a team to Bombay to question her. We may seek the assistance of the local police," said a spokesperson of the Calcutta police.

The team will also interrogate the NFDC managing director Dipak Mukherjee and general manager Rabi Mahi as per the directive of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court.

The producer of the four films, Loknath Chitra Mandir, had moved court against NFDC after being told that the prints which were handed over for preservation, were untraceable.

According to the complaint filed by Debesh Ghosh, the owner of the city-based film production company, the prints -- Bemisaal, Charitraheen, Jhooti and Jurmana -- were handed over to NFDC in February 2001..

When Ghosh wanted them for a special screening, the NFDC intimated him that the prints were missing.

Acting on his complaint, the court has instructed the Shakespere Sarani Police station, Calcutta, to submit a report by June 25.
