"I want Wipro to be among the top ten IT companies in the world," Premji said at one of the company's meetings.
Today, Wipro Technologies is India's third-largest IT company, with revenues for the year ended March 31,2006 touching $2.39 billion.
Wipro czar Azim Premji, commenting on the results, said: "We look back at our performance in 2005-06 with immense satisfaction. It was a year in which we crossed several landmarks -- including Rs 100 billion in total revenues, $2 billion mark in IT businesses revenues. Today Wipro has over 490 clients, 53,472 employees across the globe. It also has over 490 clients across 40 development centres across globe."
Wipro is ranked among the top 100 Technology companies globally (by Business Week). In the past two years Wipro has also become the largest BPO services provider, based in India.
