Bharti Televentures on Tuesday reported a net profit of Rs 161 crore (Rs 1,610 million) for the third quarter ended December 2003 as against a net loss of Rs 7 crore (Rs 70 million) in the corresponding quarter last year.
During the period in reference, the total revenue rose to Rs 1,269 crore (Rs 12.69 billion) from Rs 847 crore (Rs 8.47 billion) in the same period last year.
The company's net profit of Rs 161 crore reported during the third quarter is before unusual income.
For the nine-month period (April-Decmber 2003), Bharti's profit stood at Rs 286 crore (Rs 2.86 billion) over a loss of Rs 204 crore (Rs 2.04 billion) in the same period last year.
Sunil Bharti Mittal-promoted Bharti's subscriber base also increased to 6.07 million users.
Bharti group is an integrated telecom services company whose operations span segments like cellular, basic and STD services.
