FILM-MAKERS KEEP FINGERS CROSSED: Bollywood's dream merchants hope this Diwali will be special.

Although the Diwali season is traditionally considered bad for the movie business, as many as five films are scheduled to hit the screens this weekend.

With a combined cost of Rs 35 crores (Rs 350 million), filmmakers are keeping their fingers crossed. The recovery of their investments will depend on viewers actually buying tickets.

Film analysts say close to a dozen movies -- including Nikhil Advani's Shah Rukh Khan starrer Kal Ho Naa Ho -- are lined up for release at Id next month.
